Editorial policy
Northern Regional News aims to make the geography of northern places clear, useful and interesting. We distinguish explanation from opinion, check details before publication and correct material errors when they are brought to our attention.
Accuracy and context
We work to present place names, geographical descriptions and historical context carefully. A map, name or landscape feature can have more than one interpretation; where an account is uncertain or contested, we will say so rather than imply certainty. Our articles are general-interest explanations, not current route guidance.
Independence and corrections
Editorial choices are made for their relevance to the subject and readers, not to secure a partnership. If you spot a factual error, use the Contact page and identify the article and detail. We review correction requests and, when a material error is confirmed, amend the article with a clear note about the change.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid or partner-supported material is labelled clearly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial coverage. A partnership does not guarantee a favourable editorial treatment. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where that is the case, we identify them as AI-generated and do not present them as documentary photographs.
